January 2009 Burns Lunch
[27 January 2009]
Once again, the annual Burns Lunch event proved to be a resounding success.
66 members and guests were greeted by the music and song provided, as usual, by the music-section pupils of Govan High School and Grace Franklin once again got proceedings off to a great start with her customary excellently-performed Address To A Haggis.
We are indebted to Alan Murray of SPT who stepped in to replace his colleague Ron Culley who had taken ill. Alan, although working from Ron's originally-prepared script, also put his own signature to his Immortal Memory with the spoken word and song. His presentation was up there with the best we have heard in recent years.
Grateful thanks to all our "performers" who made this event so enjoyable.
